Hole in the Rock
A half day trip allows you to explore the Bay and visit Piercy Island as named by Captain Cook or Motukokao. Motu means island and Kokako were the birds that used to inhabit the island which were prized for the feathers. Young male warriors would journey to the island and climb it's steep cliffs to gather feathers for their cloaks with the Hole in the Rock
On most days you will have the opportunity to travel through the rock and out the other side
The Bay of Islands is a fishing paradise. Our office can book book all fishing operators. Trips vary from four to 6 hours depending on whether you wish to target snapper or kingfish. Rods and bait are provided and the skipper will filet your catch for you.
Six and seven hour options, ranging up to 40ft in boat size. Rods and bait provided and the fish caught is filleted for you.
Not cooking while on holiday?… Pop up to the local Swordfish Club close to Busby Manor who will batter and cook it for you.

Explore the Bay by land and sea over two days, with a dolphin watching cruise and a trip to New Zealand’s northernmost point, Cape Reinga. Choose either a half-day Hole in the Rock cruise and explore the Bay in search of dolphins while visiting its highlights.
At Busby Manor we have Kayaks available for $10 per "Northland hour" = as long as it takes
There is safe kayaking directly off the beach outside Busby Manor
Rental Kayaks are available from the Waitangi Bridge. Guided and unguided options are avaialble to the Haruru Falls. A very easy kayak especially if you go with the tide. There are some great mangroves to explore on the way and lots of birdlife. Look out for Spoonbill and nesting Shags (Cormorants)
Kayaks can also be rented on Urupukapuka Island

Cruise through the sheltered waters of the Bay of Islands on a purpose built dolphin and whale watching catamaran. Cliffs and Caves Tour
A short two hour cruise that takes you around the back of the islands in very comfortable inflatable boat with individual seats. Your chance to get up close and see parts of the bay not usually explored. Land on an island and enjoy beautiful views, untouched beaches and native forest.

Swim with Dolphins
Get up close to view and swim with Dolphins in their natural environment in New Zealand's warmest waters. Travel on our purpose built 35 seat intimate vessel with an experienced passionate crew which will get you as close as possible to these amazing creatures. Swim is included and wetsuit, snorkel and mask are supplied.
Some terms and conditions apply as Department of Conservation guidelines apply so swimming is not permitted when juvenile dolphins are in the pod.
Cream Trip - Full day on the water
The most popular and famous cruise in Bay of Islands.The “Cream Trip" began in 1927. The cruise explores most of the islands in the bay stopping to drop of mail to residents living on the islands. Encounter dolphins along the way. Includes a lunchtime stop over on the island of the day (Take your own lunch, order ahead or purchase on board). The viewpoint from the top of the hill is absolutely stunning and includes a panorama of most of the islands and bays.
Along the way you can swim in the boom nets along the side of the boat. An optional extra is to swim with the dolphins (pay on board or book ahead)
